I then worked for eight wonderful years as a preschool teacher at Playdays Playschool. There I was immersed in a community that respected diversity and I became confident in communicating with colleagues and students from different cultures. My previous experience was in a teaching assistant role at the Singapore American School. As I have gained experience, my practice has evolved and I have deepened my understanding and developed my own strengths, and areas of special interest. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of having the guidance and support of experienced teachers who have helped me to develop my skills. I have worked with children with learning differences for more than 20 years. It's a lot more fun, and a richer teaching experience, when your students are having fun too. I love creating spaces that invite exploration, and provide opportunities for children to challenge, and express, themselves. I strongly believe in establishing warm and respectful relationships with students, so that they feel safe, and heard, in the learning environment. I enjoy having the ability to make positive changes in the program based on new research in the field, and knowledge gained in training. My position as deputy director keeps me busy, but is very fulfilling, as I thrive when given responsibilities. Before that, I had worked in a variety of schools, gaining experience in different roles. I joined Kaleidoscope’s Ready Let’s Go Programme in 2016. I am Singaporean, but completed my masters in Australia, which gave me some valuable experience working in a culture different from my own. I am an enthusiastic and motivated teacher, and educational therapist, with more than 15 years of experience. Working with children has been such an honor. ![]() ![]() I find myself wearing many hats- from clinical supervisor, lecturer, therapist, teacher, team player, partner and advocate. I constantly work with children, either in groups or one-to-one, who find certain aspects of development quite challenging such as social and relationship skills, fine and gross motor skills, as well as sensory integration and behavioral challenges. Since then, I have worked in different pediatric settings from hospital, homes, clinics and schools (public/private/international) in different countries (United States, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore) and have collaborated with teams to ensure that we do our very best to foster and facilitate growth, progress and development in an environment that promotes this. I realized that I find myself more passionate and connected with children. I started my practice in the pediatric setting in 1998, after my experiences in different adult rehabilitation settings. ![]() It does not store any personal data.I believe in a world where uniqueness and differences are recognized and celebrated, a world where different abilities are stepping-stones to a life with more purpose and meaning.
